Protest `Hate Crime' Charge
Against Christian Teen!

By Rev Ted Pike
29 July 2008

Christian teen and "hate crime" defendant Brett Van Asdlen is scheduled to face a judge and militant state attorney this Friday, August 1. His hearing is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. in Courtroom B of the Champaign , Illinois courthouse.
Police who interviewed the promising 18-year-old scholarship athlete and his friend told him he had nothing to worry about after pushing over homosexual Steven Velasquez, who hit his head. They said Brett clearly was assaulted by Velasquez, whom Brett described as drunk.
Yet, two other officers, interviewing Velasquez and his friends, described Brett's action as a hate crime. State attorney Julia Rietz will begin prosecution of Brett this Friday for violation of the Illinois anti-hate law. Consequences for Brett could be three years behind bars!
TAKE ACTION NOW TO FREE BRETT! Call state attorney Julia Rietz at 217-384-3733 and say: "I protest the hate crimes charge against Brett Van Asdlen. Please drop all charges."
