Kill Georgia's Hate Bill

By Rev Ted Pike
3 Jan 2008

In 2004 the Georgia Supreme Court declared Georgia's ADL-inspired hate crimes bill unconstitutional. It was too vague, gave special federal protection to too many groups, and thus could not be enforced.
Now ADL and pro-homosexual groups are lobbying hard to reinstitute it, restoring special protection and rights to homosexuals, transvestites, and transgenders. A Georgia Senate study committee must decide before January 9 whether to attempt to pass the bill. If you are a resident of Georgia, it's time to protest loudly. Call your state senator andr representatives TODAY.
Tell them: "Please do not reinstate Georgia's hate crimes law. Existing law adequately punishes all forms of crime. Adding bias motivation to the definition of a crime only complicates law enforcement."
With ADL frustrated in passing their federal hate law, they will turn to their 45 state hate laws to persecute evangelical Christians in the years ahead. It was ADL's Pennsylvania hate law that ADL used to arrest the "Philly 11" Christians in 2004. Thus, it is vital that state hate laws be declared unconstitutional or repealed and that abandonment of the Georgia hate law stands out as an example and precedent for other states.
