Contrived Cold War, Perpetual War

"A nation of slaves is always prepared to applaud the clemency of their master, who, in the abuse of absolute power, does not proceed to the last extremes of injustice and oppression."
Edward Gibbon, The Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire

"The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary."
quote from: H. L. Mencken, US editor (1880 - 1956)

Hermann Goering: Why, of course, the people don't want war. Why would some
poor slob on a farm want to risk his life in a war when the best that
he can get out of it is to come back to his farm in one piece.
Naturally, the common people don't want war; neither in Russia, nor in
England, nor in America, nor for that matter in Germany. That is
understood. But, after all, it is the leaders of the country who
determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the
people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or
a parliament, or a communist dictatorship.
Gustave Gilbert: There is one difference. In a democracy the people have some
say in the matter through their elected representatives, and in the
United States only Congress can declare wars.
Goering: Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the
bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them
they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of
patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in
any country."
—Nazi leader Hermann Goering, interviewed by Gustave Gilbert during
the Easter recess of the Nuremberg trials, 1946 April 18, quoted in
Gilbert's book Nuremberg Diary.

Always there has been some terrible evil at home or some monstrous foreign power that was going to gobble us up if we did not blindly rally behind it.
– General Douglas MacArthur

“It is part of the general pattern of misguided policy that our country is now geared to an arms economy which was bred in an artificially induced psychosis of war hysteria and nurtured upon an incessant propaganda of fear.”
—General Douglas MacArthur, 15 May 1951

History is replete with examples of empires mounting impressive military campaigns on the cusp of their impending economic collapse.
—Eric Alterman. [Further explanation from quotes page at "About the quote: Alterman is an American journalist, born in 1960. (quote from 'The Anti-War Quote Book,' edited Eric Groves, Sr., pub. Quirk Books, 2008)"]

“There is no instance of a country having benefited from prolonged warfare.”
—Sun Tzu

Pre-Meditated 9/11, Global War, and Threats of Repeat 9/11's

"Either you accept our offer of a carpet of gold, or we bury you under a carpet of bombs."
Ultimatim made by Bush representatives in Afghanistan prior to 9/11 when they demanded oil, gas, and pipeline rights in Afghanistan from the Taliban, a demand which the Taliban refused, according to ''Bin Laden, la verité interdite'' (''Bin Laden, the forbidden truth''), by Jean-Charles Brisard and Guillaume Dasquien. Source: "U.S. Policy Towards Taliban Influenced by Oil - Say Authors" by Julio Godoy, Inter Press Service, 15 November 2001.

"This is total war. We are fighting a variety of enemies. There are lots of them out there. All this talk about first we are going to do Afghanistan, then we will do Iraq...This is entirely the wrong way to go about it. If we just let our vision of the world go forth, and we embrace it entirely and we don't try to piece together clever diplomacy, but just wage a total war...our children will sing songs about us years from now."
Richard Perle (known as the "Prince of Darkness")
Dec 2002 interview by John Pilger
quoted page 89, 9-11 Evil by Victor Thorn

"About ten days after 9/11, I went through the Pentagon and I saw Secretary Rumsfeld and Deputy Secretary Wolfowitz. I went downstairs just to say hello to some of the people on the Joint Staff who used to work for me, and one of the generals called me in. He said, “Sir, you’ve got to come in and talk to me a second.” I said, “Well, you’re too busy.” He said, “No, no.” He says, “We’ve made the decision we’re going to war with Iraq.” This was on or about the 20th of September. I said, “We’re going to war with Iraq? Why?” He said, “I don’t know.” He said, “I guess they don’t know what else to do.” So I said, “Well, did they find some information connecting Saddam to al-Qaeda?” He said, “No, no. There’s nothing new that way. They just made the decision to go to war with Iraq.” He said, “I guess it’s like we don’t know what to do about terrorists, but we’ve got a good military and we can take down governments.” And he said, “I guess if the only tool you have is a hammer, every problem has to look like a nail.”
So I came back to see him a few weeks later, and by that time we were bombing in Afghanistan. I said, “Are we still going to war with Iraq?” And he said, “Oh, it’s worse than that.” He reached over on his desk. He picked up a piece of paper. And he said, “I just got this down from upstairs” -- meaning the Secretary of Defense’s office -- “today.” And he said, “This is a memo that describes how we’re going to take out seven countries in five years, starting with Iraq, and then Syria, Lebanon, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Iran.”
Gen. Wesley Clark, USA (Ret).

"[A] terrorist, massive, casualty-producing event [will occur] somewhere in the Western world - it may be in the United States of America - that causes our population to question our own Constitution and to begin to militarize our country in order to avoid a repeat of another mass, casualty-producing event."

Special Interest Takeover

"The world is governed by very different personages from what is imaged by those who are not behind the scenes."
—19th century [Jewish] British Prime Minister Benjamin Disraeli.

"Since I entered politics, I have chiefly had men's views confided to me privately. Some of the biggest men in the United States , in the field of commerce and manufacture, are afraid of somebody, are afraid of something. They know that there is a power somewhere so organized, so subtle, so watchful, so interlocked, so complete, so pervasive, that they had better not speak above their breath when they speak in condemnation of it…"
A great industrial nation is controlled by its system of credit. Our system of credit is privately concentrated. The growth of the nation, therefore, and all our activities are in the hands of a few men… .
[W]e have come to be one of the worst ruled, one of the most completely controlled and dominated, governments in the civilized world — no longer a government by free opinion, no longer a government by conviction and the vote of the majority, but a government by the opinion and the duress of small groups of dominant men…”
President Woodrow Wilson
All three of the quotes above taken from The New Freedom:
A Call for the Emancipation of the Generous Energies of
a People
, 1913

"The real menace of our republic is this invisible government which like a giant octopus sprawls its slimy length over city, state and nation. Like the octopus of real life, it operates under cover of a self created screen....At the head of this octopus are the Rockefeller Standard Oil interests and a small group of powerful banking houses generally referred to as international bankers. The little coterie of powerful international bankers virtually run the United States government for their own selfish purposes. They practically control both political parties."
New York City Mayor John F. Hylan, 1922

"... This movement among the Jews is not new. From the days of Spartacus-Weishaupt to those of Karl Marx, and down to Trotsky (Russia), Bela Kun (Hungary), Rosa Luxembourg (Germany), and Emma Goldman (United States), this world-wide conspiracy for the overthrow of civilization and for the reconstitution of society on the basis of arrested development, of envious malevolence, and impossible equality, has been steadily growing. It played, as a modern writer, Mrs. Webster, has so ably shown, a definitely recognizable part in the tragedy of the French Revolution. It has been the mainspring of every subversive movement during the Nineteenth Century; and now at last this band of extraordinary personalities from the underworld of the great cities of Europe and America have gripped the Russian people by the hair of their heads and have become practically the undisputed masters of that enormous empire.
Winston Churchill, "Zionism versus Bolshevism. A Struggle for the Soul of the Jewish People," 1922.

"The real rulers in Washington are invisible and exercise their power from behind the scenes."
— Spoken by [Jewish] Justice Felix Frankfurter U.S. Supreme Court, 1952

“The individual is handicapped by coming face-to-face with a conspiracy so monstrous he cannot believe it exists."
Former FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover.
Quoted in the Elks Magazine, August 1956; article about the
communist threat to America.

"I am concerned for the security of our great nation; not so much because of any threat from without, but because of the insideous forces working from within."
— General Douglas MacArthur

“For we are opposed around the world by a monolithic and ruthless conspiracy ..... It is a system which has conscripted vast human and material resources into the building of a tightly knit, highly efficient machine that combines military, diplomatic, intelligence, economic, scientific and political operations.”
President John F. Kennedy, 1961

"The Trilateral Commission is intended to be the vehicle for multinational consolidation of the commercial and banking interests by seizing control of the political government of the United States. The Trilateral Commission represents a skillful, coordinated effort to seize control and consolidate the four centers of power--Political, Monetary, Intellectual, and Ecclesiastical."
— U.S. Senator Barry Goldwater From his 1964 book No Apologies

"There exists a shadowy Government with its own Air Force, its own Navy, its own fundraising mechanism, and the ability to pursue its own ideas of national interest, free from all checks and balances, and free from the law itself."
— Senator Daniel K. Inouye, during the Iran Contra Hearings and former chair, U.S. Senate MKULTRA-era hearings in 1977

"For more than a century ideological extremists at either end of the political spectrum have seized upon well-publicized incidents ... to attack the Rockefeller family for the inordinate influence they claim we wield over American political and economic institutions. Some even believe we are part of a secret cabal working against the best interests of the United States, characterizing my family and me as 'internationalists' and of conspiring with others around the world to build a more integrated global political and economic structure - one world, if you will. If that's the charge, I stand guilty, and I am proud of it"

George W. Bush and Associates

"If this were a dictatorship, it would be a heck of a lot easier, just so long as I'm the dictator."
George W. Bush, 12/18/00

"We also have to work, though, sort of the dark side, if you will. We've got to spend time in the shadows in the intelligence world. A lot of what needs to be done here will have to be done quietly, without any discussion, using sources and methods that are available to our intelligence agencies, if we're going to be successful. That's the world these folks operate in, and so it's going to be vital for us to use any means at our disposal, basically, to achieve our objective."
Vice President Dick Cheney, September 16, 2001

"We are fully committed to working with both sides to bring the level of terror down to an acceptable level for both."
George W. Bush, Oct. 2, 2001
After a meeting with congressional leaders, Washington , D.C.,

“Let us never tolerate outrageous conspiracy theories concerning the attacks of September 11th”
George W. Bush, speech to UN 10 Nov 2001

"If you vote against the war in Iraq, the Bush administration will do whatever is necessary to get you. There will be severe ramifications for you and the state of Minnesota ."
Vice President Dick Cheney, October 2002.
To Senator Paul Wellstone (D), just days before Wellstone’s death in an airplane accident.

"I'm the commander - see, I don't need to explain - I do not need to explain why I say things. That's the interesting thing about being president."
George W. Bush, quoted in Bob Woodward's "Bush at War"

"I'm also not very analytical. You know I don't spend a lot of time thinking about myself, about why I do things."
George W. Bush, June 4, 2003, aboard Air Force One

"Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we."
George W. Bush, Aug. 5, 2004, in Washington , D.C.

"George's answer to any problem at the ranch is to cut it down with a chain saw--which I think is why he and Cheney and Rumsfeld get along so well."
— Laura Bush, White House Correspondent's Association Dinner, April 30, 2005.

"See, in my line of work you got to keep repeating things over and over and over again for the truth to sink in, to kind of catapult the propaganda."
George W. Bush, May 24, 2005, Greece, NY.

The Punk Wisdom of Chief Bush Aid Karl Rove (from Wikiquote)

"The aide said that guys like me were `in what we call the reality-based community,' which he defined as people who `believe that solutions emerge from your judicious study of discernible reality.' I nodded and murmured something about enlightenment principles and empiricism. He cut me off. `That's not the way the world really works anymore.' He continued `We're an empire now, and when we act, we create our own reality. And while you're studying that reality—judiciously, as you will—we'll act again, creating other new realities, which you can study too, and that's how things will sort out. We're history's actors ... and you, all of you, will be left to just study what we do.'"
Suskind, Ron (2004-10-17). Faith, Certainty and the Presidency of George W. Bush. The New York Times Magazine. [According to Wikiquote: The unidentified aide is widely said to be Karl Rove. [See footnote 1, which is as follows:] Danner, Mark (2007). "Words in a Time of War: On Rhetoric, Truth and Power". in András Szántó. What Orwell Didn't Know: Propaganda and the New Face of American Politics (First edition ed.). Philadelphia, PA: PublicAffairs Reports. pp. 17. "... the unnamed official speaking to Suskind is widely known to be none other than the self-same architect of the aircraft-carrier moment, Karl Rove ..."

"All politicians operate within an Orwellian nimbus where words don't mean what they normally mean, but Rovism posits that there is no objective, verifiable reality at all. Reality is what you say it is, ..."
Neal Gabler, Los Angeles Times; October 25, 2004 [4]

"He (Rove) is way beyond anything Nixon had at his disposal. He is closer to a behind-the-scenes Nixon operator named Murray Chotiner, who could cut off an opponent at the knees so quickly the person did not immediately realize he had been crippled. As I note in the book, the first time I heard the name Karl Rove was when I was asked if I knew anything about him by one of the Watergate special prosecutors who was investigating campaign dirty tricks. I didn't have any knowledge. But I recalled that question when working on this book, and located a memorandum in the files of the Watergate prosecutor's office that indicates they were asking others as well about Rove. Based on my review of the files, it appears the Watergate prosecutors were interested in Rove's activities in 1972, but because they had bigger fish to fry they did not aggressively investigate him."
Watergate veteran John Dean [5]

"Karl Rove told me about Valerie Plame's identity on July 11, 2003. I called him because Ambassador Wilson was in the news that week. I didn't know Ambassador Wilson even had a wife until I talked to Karl Rove, and he said that she worked at the Agency and worked on WMD."
Matthew Cooper, former Time reporter, Sunday, August 19, 2007, Meet the Press [6]

Mass Media Control

"In March, 1915, the J.P. Morgan interests, the steel, shipbuilding, and powder interest, and their subsidiary organizations, got together 12 men high up in the newspaper world and employed them to select the most influential newspapers in the United States and sufficient number of them to control generally the policy of the daily press....They found it was only necessary to purchase the control of 25 of the greatest papers. "An agreement was reached; the policy of the papers was bought, to be paid for by the month; an editor was furnished for each paper to properly supervise and edit information regarding the questions of preparedness, militarism, financial policies, and other things of national and international nature considered vital to the interests of the purchasers."
— U.S. Congressman Oscar Callaway, 1917

"Hollywood and Washington have a symbiotic relationship. They both deal with illusions. Reality doesn't play often much of a part. I think I saw through the myth of the Cold War almost from the beginning. I was a Washington political kid from a political family. Roosevelt first had radio because he had this [imitating Roosevelt] GREAT SPEAKING VOICE everyone liked to hear. Truman proceeded to break every arrangement that Roosevelt had set up for a peaceful coexistance. And Truman thought it would be a good idea, why not just stay armed all the time. And then he devised the national security state. You have got to go up and swear allegiance to the United States or else you are a commie. I mean, we had imported fascism. We got Dwight Eisenhower, who said that we have this great military industrial complex. It is a dangerous thing, and he said this is going to change everything, and the way this country is governed. It will change us politically. Along comes Jack Kennedy. Wanted to make his mark. Believed in the Cold War, but he said that in this kind of politics it is the appearance of things that matters. I think everybody should take a sober look at the world about us. The national security state still exists. Only it isn't communism anymore, it is terrorism. This is the most serious thing that has happened in the history of the United States. Knowledge is power. We need an honest new system."
— Gore Vidal introduction; History of the National Security State with Gore Vidal, June 2008

"Our job is to give people not what they want, but what we decide they ought to have."
— Richard Salent, Former President CBS News

"The CIA owns everyone of any significance in the major media."
— William Colby - Former CIA Director

"We'll know our disinformation program is complete when everything the American public believes is false."
—- William Casey, CIA Director 1981

“PAO (Public Affairs Office) now has relationships with reporters from every major wire service, newspaper, news weekly and television network in the nation. This has helped us turn some "intelligence failure" stories into "intelligence success" stories, and it has contributed to the accuracy of countless others. In many instances, we have persuaded reporters to postpone, change, hold, or even scrap stories that could have adversely affected national security interests or jeopardized sources and methods.”
— Director of Central Intelligence, Task Force Report on Greater CIA Openness, 20 Dec 1991
(source: Disclosure Project online pdf copy of document, page 7)

"Ninety-five percent of the work of the intelligence agencies around the world is deception and disinformation," von Bülow said, which is widely propagated in the mainstream media creating an accepted version of events. "Journalists don't even raise the simplest questions," he said, adding, "those who differ are labeled as crazy."
— Andreas Von Bulow, from the online 22 March 2004 article "Intel Expert Says 9-11 Looks Like A Hollywood Show" by Christopher Bollyn

"We are grateful to the Washington Post, the New York Times, Time Magazine and other great publications whose directors have attended our meetings and respected their promises of discretion for almost forty years...It would have been impossible for us to develop our plan for the world if we had been subjected to the lights of publicity during those years. But, the world is more sophisticated and prepared to march towards a world government. The supranational sovereignty of an intellectual elite and world bankers is surely preferable to the national autodetermination practiced in past centuries."
-- David Rockefeller, Speaking at the June, 1991 Bilderberger meeting in Baden, Germany (a meeting also attended by then-Governor Bill Clinton and by Dan Quayle.

"We know in the not too distant future, a half dozen corporations are going to control the media. We took this step (merger) to ensure we were one of them"
— Time Warner spokesperson.

Jeff Rense: It is all planned. No accidents, and no coincidences. [Responding to "The Plan -- according to U.S. General Wesley Clark (Ret.)" provided above].
Jordan Maxwell: Nope.
Rense: I think this has been engineered to the extent that what we are seeing is the unprecedented takeover of the mass psyche of not only this country, but of the world in general. In other words, any part of the world that has exposure to the mass media promulgated of course by and injected into the subconscious by television, primarily. I believe now that the mass media combine in this country, whether it be People Magazine in print, whether it be MTV and all the rest of the visual things, whether it would just be audio, via the music, it doesn't matter, I believe that combine of media is now to a large degree the actual, virtual consciousness and brain of the majority of the masses of this country. I believe it thinks for them, I believe it decides for them, I believe they are hopelessly, irrevocably consulting with it 24 hours a day without even knowing it, because of the ability to project into the subconscious and the conscious mind all the time the imagery, the thoughts, the processes, the boundaries. I believe we are living now with people in a secondary role to a virtual consciousness and a brain that has been created with utter and full intent."

Mossad-CIA and Jewish Affairs

"The Jewish people as a whole will be its own Messiah. It will attain world domination by the dissolution of other races...and by the establishment of a world republic in which everywhere the Jews will exercise the privilege of citizenship. In this New World Order the Children of Israel...will furnish all the leaders without encountering opposition..."
— Karl Marx in a letter to Baruch Levy, quoted in Review de Paris, June 1, 1928, p. 574

"Perhaps it is possible to seperate Jewish interests from Israeli interests, but the trick is yet to be turned. What touches Israel touches global Jewry, and vice versa. Purists and theorticians may argue about the seperation of church and state, Jews and Israelis, Judaism and Zionism, but in the real world the connection is hard, fast, and seemingly invisible."
— Jewish-American author, Gerald Krefetz
in Jews & Money: The Myths and Reality
(source: The New Babylon by Michael Collins Piper, preface page).

"It must be recognized, as it rarely is in histories of the Jews, that [the] expressed resentments and indictments against Jews were not entirely fictitious libels or maliciously revived and activated stereotypes simply disseminated by paranoid hate merchants from the grab bag of the anti-Semitic pre-modern past. There was just enough empiracle truth in these negative, overblown, and over-generated images to give them persuasive force."

The Phony Hunt for Bin Laden

"I don't know where bin Laden is. I have no idea and I really don't care. It's not that important. It's not our priority."
— GW Bush, March 13, 2002

Quotes from U.S Founders

"If tyranny and oppression come to this land, it will be in the guise of fighting a foreign enemy."--James Madison

"But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security."
U.S. Declaration of Independence, July 4, 1776

“There is not a truth I fear or would wish unknown to the world”
Thomas Jefferson.

“I would rather have newspapers without a government than a government without newspapers.”
Thomas Jefferson.

A note on code embedded within the Dedication to this work

a) Beneath “Dedication” there are nine stars. Above “Dulce et Decorum Est…” there are eleven stars. Hence 9-11
b) The first line above the stars consists of one line, the text between the stars has 11 lines, the text below the last row of stars has 3 lines. Hence 1-11-3, play on the “11” and odd number aspect of the code. It can be anagrammed as 1-3-11 or read backwards as 3-111 to produce the same “3-11” as the date of the Madrid bombing.
c) Above the first row of stars, “A Dedication” has 11 letters. Below the last row of stars, the Latin phrase has 11 letters for each of the first two rows, and nine letters on the last row. Hence, 11-11-11-9, which anagrams or reads backwards to give us 9-11.
